Where Have All The Flowers Gone
The trio, Peter Yarrow, Noel "Paul" Stookey and Mary Travers are among the most suc-cessful folk groups in the
USA. Their debut album entitled "Peter Paul And Mary" immedi-ately stormed to the top of the US charts, remained in the TOP 10 for ten months and in the TOP 100 for a whole three years. Peter, Paul
And Mary were involved in the civil rights movement and also took part in the March on Washington. There they played their hit "If I Had A Hammer", Martin Luther King gave his famous speech "I Have
A Dream". Paul's "Wedding Song (There Is Love)," which he wrote in 1971 for Peter's wedding ceremony to Marybeth McCarthy, a niece of Senator Eugene McCarthy, is still a standard song for weddings
in America. In 1999, the group was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
