　Stereo Sound's Critics series welcomes a new female vocals edition , "DIVAs that graced the Victor/JVC label,"
selected and arranged by Yoshio Ohara !  As a new addition to our popular "Critics Series," a female vocals compilation selected and arranged by Yoshio Ohara is being added. For this work, Ohara has selected tracks with outstanding sound production from the catalog of JVC Kenwood Victor Entertainment, drawing from Japanese jazz/fusion that he has loved since his student days.  With the full cooperation of JVC Kenwood Victor Entertainment, this work contains 9 carefully selected songs that Ohara is particularly fond of. The works included in this work, released between 1970 and 1982, not only feature songs by domestic and international artists, but also showcase collaborations between Japanese artists and international artists, which cannot be ignored. While most modern compilation albums are produced from digital sources, this album features nine tracks meticulously recreated from genuine original analog master tapes.  This SACD/CD hybrid disc was mastered by Kazushige Yamazaki of FLAIR, with Mr. Ohara present. Mr. Yamazaki is particularly knowledgeable about analog master tapes among the studio's staff, and he is meticulous in operating the tape recorder used for master playback. The CD layer of this album contains the SACD layer files, created using flat transfer, with minimal sound adjustments to suit the CD format. The liner notes include anecdotes  from Mr. Ohara's student days when he was engrossed in jazz/fusion, highlights of each track, and the joy of listening to numerous masterpieces by female vocalists—DIVAs—from Japan and abroad on a well-equipped audio system.
