《歌仔曹七巧:台灣爵士戲曲專輯》簡介
《曹七巧》改編自上海作家張愛玲1943年撰寫的經典小說《金鎖記》,此作被譽為華文現代文學的高峰之作,揭示了20世紀初上海社會的現實困境與人性的幽微曲折。曹七巧,一位出身寒微的女子,因言行失宜逐漸被婆家排擠,最終以瘋癲的姿態度過餘生。評論家費勇指出:「七巧既非反派也非正面人物,而是一種宿命的、身不由己的存在。」夏志清更讚譽《金鎖記》為「中國古今最偉大的中篇小說」。
《曹七巧》由 LQZ Theater Company 製作,2004年首次發表,2005年5月正式登台,成為近二十年來台灣與中國劇場界改編《金鎖記》風潮的先驅。整齣戲聚焦寡婦曹七巧在一日之中由憤怒、怨懟逐步走向瘋癲的心境轉折。劇本以意識流筆法書寫,模仿張愛玲文言白話交錯的語法特色,演出則融合京劇程式語言與小劇場張力,使角色既在視野中展演,又如鏡像般逼近觀者情感深處。
本劇由劉亮延編導,其劇場語彙融合儀式性強烈的動作、詩意的語言碎片與心理意象的交疊,刻劃曹七巧破碎靈魂的軌跡。
至今,《曹七巧》歷經六個版本、五位演員詮釋:包括2006年台新藝術獎年度決選提名的錢宇珊版、2008年金曲獎三項提名的葛璟嬌版,以及2011年起熱演不墜的男旦劉欣然版。截至2014年6月7日,演出突破百場,至2024年累積達130場。
這張全新錄製的《歌仔曹七巧:台灣爵士戲曲專輯》,於 玉成戲院錄音室(Yu-Chen Cinema Recording Studio)現場收音完成。由歌仔戲名家 李靜芳、日台混血爵士女歌手 Eri Liao 主唱,搭配鋼琴手 詹宗霖、低音提琴手 李昶祐、打擊手 林胤錞 組成的爵士三重奏,經音樂製作人柯智豪的融合,打造出跨界音樂的奇想場域。美形小生 陳禹安 更為本專輯帶來聖誕驚喜橋段。
在這張專輯裡,歌仔戲的哭調與爵士樂的即興語法首次並置舞台,以台語吟詠命運的裂痕,唱出一位女性內在的幽暗與堅韌。
kua-á Tsô tshit khá: A Jazz Taiwanese Opera Album Introduction
Adapted from The Golden Cangue, a landmark novella written in 1943 by Shanghai author Eileen Chang, Tsô tshit khá(Cao Qi qiao with mandarin pronounciation) draws from one of the most celebrated
works in modern Chinese literature. The story exposes the moral dilemmas and social realities of early 20th-century Shanghai, while tracing the psychological unraveling of a woman born into a
modest merchant family. Lacking refinement and social standing, Tsô tshit khá finds herself increasingly marginalized within her husband’s household, ultimately adopting madness as a form of
survival. As critic Fei Yong notes, “tshit khá is neither a villain nor a heroine, but an objective presence—a fated existence beyond her own control.” C.T. Hsia hailed The Golden Cangue as “the
greatest Chinese novella ever written.”
First published in 2004 and premiered in May 2005, Cao Qiqiao by LQZ Theater Company became a pioneering force in the wave of Golden Cangue adaptations that swept Taiwanese and Chinese theatre over
the past two decades. The play condenses a single day in the life of the widowed Qiqiao, whose bitterness and rage culminate in madness. Written in a stream-of-consciousness style that emulates
Chang’s signature blend of classical and vernacular syntax, the production boldly integrates operatic performance techniques. Drawing from Peking opera, it maintains a deliberate distance between
performer and audience—yet the Chinese sensibility oscillates between display and intimacy, laying bare the visceral plight of a premodern woman.
Tsô tshit khá is a work written and directed by Liang-Yen Liu, whose theatrical language blends stylized movement, poetic fragmentation, and ritualistic intensity to evoke the character’s fractured
psyche.
To date, the play has been interpreted through six distinct versions by five performers, including Chien Yu-shan’s 2006 Taishin Arts Award-nominated portrayal, Ge Jing-jiao’s 2008 Golden
Melody-nominated rendition, and Liu Xin-ran’s enduring male dan performance, which debuted in 2011. As of June 7, 2014, the production had surpassed 100 performances, reaching 130 by 2024.
This new version album of Tsô tshit khá captures a live studio performance at Yu-Chen Cinema Recording Studio. Featuring Traditional Taiwanese Opera virtuoso Jin-fang Lee, Japanese-Taiwanese Jazz
vocalist Eri Liao, pianist Tsung-Lin Jan, double bassist Chang-You Lee, and percussionist Yin-Chuen Chen , with the fusion from producer Blaire Ko, the album is arranged as a Jazz trio. Actor Chen
Yu-an adds a surprise holiday cameo. Together, they realize a daring sonic fusion—melding the sorrowful kudiao of Traditional Taiwanese Opera with the improvisational textures of Jazz.
