The Kitchen is the third studio album by Oakland, California-based, underground hip hop collective, Hieroglyphics.[1][2] The album was released on July 16, 2013
加州音樂重鎮Oakland傳奇地下團體Hieroglyphics成立於90’s初，由首腦Del Tha Funky Homosapien號召饒舌歌手Casual與Pep Love以及製作人Domino與DJ Tourey，外加同屬經典的Souls Of Mischief團員Phesto, A-Plus, Opio與Tajai所組成。他們的音樂充滿了Jazz與Funk取樣，並靠著具爆發力的現場演出在underground迅速打開知名度。多位團員身兼 饒舌與製作，都有獨當一面的實力，各自有不錯的發展，也如此專輯少得可憐，畢竟要把人湊在一起是難事一件。1998年發行處女大作《3rd Eye Vision》，隔了5年才推出有著獨立榜第十名佳績的第二張《Full Cycle》，然後又等了10年，才盼到新作《The Kitchen》。
