有普普藝術大師安迪沃荷參與製作以及設計傳世封面的加持，加上德國籍美麗模特兒/創作歌手Nico助陣，搖滾名團The Velvet Underground影響搖滾樂史甚鉅的經典大作【The Velvet Underground & Nico】於1967年轟然問世，這張專輯充斥著藥物沉溺、性愛解放、SM虐待樂趣、性向錯亂等題材，在相當保守的60年代引來無比的矚目與震撼！入選滾石雜誌「史上5百張經典專輯」、SPIN「史上最具影響力的15張專輯」、美國全國公共廣播電台(NPR)「20世紀中最重要的美國音樂家作品」、The Observer「改變音樂界的50張專輯」、還有Q和Time雜誌的「百張偉大專輯」等名單，也讓大眾開始注意到Nico恬淡慵懶的獨特歌聲，竟意外的讓她展開了歌唱生涯。
成功地從演員、模特兒轉變為一位歌手，進入70年代後，因長期酗酒、嗑藥，Nico的聲音也變得越來越低沈，卻成為她的嗓音特色。1974年Nico與Brian Eno及John Cale在倫敦演出，並合力完成她個人第四張錄音室大碟【The End…】，專輯以翻唱自The Doors的作品“The End”為靈感，Nico參與創作了大部份歌曲，而她寫下宛如安魂曲般暗鬱色調的“You Forget To Answer”，幽幽唱出她在前男友、The Doors主唱Jim Morrison死前曾試圖聯繫卻遲了一步的遺憾與惆悵。此雙碟名盤特別加收多首現場收音的稀有版本，其中有7首是從未發行過的珍貴錄音。
