Woven Words, a recording devoted to contemporary vocal music, presents a program built around a central question: how can speech be woven into the musical fabric? Through a series of works showcasing the diversity of contemporary compositional aesthetics, spanning from 1988 to 2022, the human voice, accompanied at times by acoustic instruments and at others by electronics, evokes a variety of atmospheres, by turns dramatic, sensuous, and playful.
