靠著模仿The Beatles起家的The Monkees，走過歌壇半個世紀，曾短暫於60年代造成轟動，雖然進入70年代呈現後繼無力的狀態，也經歷4次的休兵重組，卻不輕言解散，仍舊持續發片，舉辦巡迴演唱會，榮獲4次葛萊美獎提名。然而，主唱/鍵盤/鋼琴/貝斯/班鳩琴/吉他手Peter Tork，2019年2月21號因奮戰多年的癌症復發辭世，享壽77歲，2021年The Monkees舉辦告別演唱會後宣布解散。
