To escape the loneliness and the winters in Moscow, Tchaikovsky traveled endlessly, crossing Europe in search of rare freedom. His stays in Paris and Florence resulted in the composition of two chamber music masterpieces — the moving String Quartet no. 3 and the celebrated string sextet titled “Souvenir de Florence”. The composer's sensitive soul is revealed through the poetry of these works, brought to life by the Modigliani Quartet and their esteemed colleagues.
