Second volume born of the partnership between La Nouvelle Athenes and the Paraty label, this album sheds light on the musical world of Queen Hortense, a prolific composer and key figure of early French Romanticism. Performed on period instruments (Erard 1806, Rosenberger 1825, Naderman harp 1815, Fabricatore guitar 1827), artists such as Aline Zylberajch, Coline Dutilleul, Arnaud Marzorati, Alexis Kossenko and Edoardo Torbianelli revive the intimate spirit of the Empire's salons. Between tender romances, rare works and inspired variations, this programme unveils a forgotten page of musical history, embodied through the feminine voice of an era. A poetic immersion into the refined taste of the Napoleonic age.
