驚奇合奏團
On 8 December 1768, the programme of the Concert Spirituel in Paris featured a ‘Suite of symphonies by Rameau executed with full orchestra on the organ by Balbastre'. Though slightly enigmatic,
this title leaves little doubt that it is referring to a concerto for organ and orchestra which Balbastre must have concocted from famous pieces by Rameau, using the organ as a concertante soloist
with the instruments. Here, for the first time, the ensemble Les Surprises presents a recreation of these lost scores, with arrangements of airs by Rameau that give the organ a prominent place in
dialogue with the orchestra.
