The three works faithfuly reproduce the soundscape that inspired Proust the imaginary « little sentence » attributed to a certain Vinteuil in La Recherche. In this program designed as a triptych, Hahn's sonata brings a cheerful breath between those of Franck and Saint-Saens: the facetious titles of its movements recall the composer's travels by car on the cote d'Azur. But the most characteristic feature of these pages is their lyricism which is served with sensitivity by the technique and the complicity of the two brothers."
